Uroš Weinberger is a renowned Slovenian artist who has focused his creativity on contemporary painting, murals, intermedia installations, and music. His paintings are characterized by color contrasts and dynamic compositions, blending traditional painting techniques with elements of digital imagery. By using fluorescent colors, impasto, and glazing layers, he creates lighting effects that resemble television and computer screens. Weinberger explores fundamental social issues, such as the conflict between the individual and technology, ecological crises, and control over freedom. His works often depict dystopian scenes that, at first glance, seem like apocalyptic predictions, but many of the scenarios are directly related to our everyday life. Through the use of modern media and iconography, such as drones and digital pixels, the artist examines the role of technology in the contemporary world and its impact on both humanity and nature.

Biography
Uroš Weinberger finished studies in painting in 2003 and in 2005 completed Master's degree in painting at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Awards: the Prešeren Student Award (2001); recipient of the highest artistic recognition for important works of art by the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia (2018); the Trdina Award 2021 for important permanent achievements in the field of visual art by the Municipality of Novo mesto, Slovenia (2022) and the Gottlieb Foundation Individual Support Grant, New York, USA (2025). Artistic residencies: National Academy of Art in Sofia, Bulgaria (2002); Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Slovenia in Berlin, Germany (2009); Schafhof – European Centre for Art, Freising, Germany (2013). Author of the following art series: Transsubstantiations; Human Error; Control-Delete; Info vs.Info; Generation Z; Blur Techno; Displaced world, deplasiran svet.; The Final Countdown; Hand, Job, Paper, Work.; Attention, family values!; Seven Sisters; die Drohnen; Projectories, Neoanthromes. He continuously exhibits in Slovenian and international galleries, his artworks are included in public and private collections. He lives and works as a freelance visual artist.
